What We Do​

​

What Helping Herts offers to its partners wraps around their entire operation and supports them to do what matters most: delivering for children and young people.

​

Our partners all do different things, are varying sizes and work in diverging geographies. But a common thread for them all is that it’s never been harder to run their operation than it is now. Then Helping Herts comes in.

​

We plan a calendar of ready-made events so our partners need only recruit their participants and the rest is done for them. We also match fund these events, so that every bit of fundraising their participants do goes twice as far. Every quarter we bring our network together for a partnership-wide meeting. We facilitate the sharing of ideas and understanding, look at ways we can work together to strengthen our offering and do more for the children and young people of Hertfordshire.

Helping Herts also sits in the back office with our partners when required, offering business and governance support or generalised consulting on challenges they may be facing. Everything from policy to e-commerce.

 

Helping Herts is a vital service for our partners, one that funds projects and protects operations in a challenging environment.

 

The Big Picture​

Through our funding and initiatives, 3,180 people have received direct support, while a further 35,280 people have benefited indirectly from projects funded by Helping Herts.

​

Together, our supporters have helped us raise £350,000 through Helping Herts initiatives, enabling vital work to reach the communities and young people who need it most.

​

Our impact reaches across the county, with all 10 local authority areas in Hertfordshire receiving funding for projects.

​

These figures represent more than numbers. They represent children and young people receiving support, families being helped, opportunities being created and communities becoming stronger, all made possible by the generosity of our supporters and the organisations we work alongside.

 

The Year In Depth

​

2025 was a landmark year for Helping Herts, with record fundraising and engagement, headlined by the Great Big Walk For Herts.

​

We welcomed three new charity partners in 2025, including GRIT, Future Living and Herts Inclusive Theatre, bringing our partnership network to 12 charities. Throughout the year, we delivered fundraising challenges, a partner skydive, quarterly networking events and Helping Herts Week, with events match funded to maximise their impact.

​

In September, the Great Big Walk For Herts brought together more than 350 walkers and raised an incredible £120,000, demonstrating the power of our community and partnerships.

​

We also strengthened our team, welcoming Josh Danbury-Nolan as Chief Operating Officer and Marie Pate as Charity Liaison Lead, before ending the year with a refreshed brand identity.
